After Two Big Debate Losses, John Sununu Backs Out of NHPR/GSNC Debate

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Chris Pappas for Senate Campaign Manager Rachel Petri released the following statement after John Sununu backed out of the New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR)/Granite State News Collaborative (GSNC) debate scheduled for next week:

“John Sununu has run a campaign defined by absence: an absence of meeting with voters, an absence of engaging with the press, and an absence of standing up to Donald Trump. So it’s no surprise that he’ll be absent from the NHPR/Granite State News Collaborative debate next week. John Sununu has already made major blunders at the first two general election debates, openly telling voters he’s hiding what he’ll do on Social Security, refusing to support resolutions to end the Iran War, and defending Pete Hegseth against accountability. Granite Staters know that Chris Pappas is the only candidate in the race who will stand up to Donald Trump, work to lower costs, and reverse Trump’s health care cuts —  and Sununu’s bizarre duck-and-cover strategy to close out the campaign only reinforces that message.”
